You know those husbands who enter a hardware store and never leave (that's my father-in-law)? Or the husband who enters a sporting goods store and never leave?  I have a husband who can't enter a music store because he won't want to leave! It's so bad, I won't even go into a music store with him anymore. I'll stay home or wait in the car. Why does a man have to spend hours inside a music store? I don't spend hours inside a mall!

How was everybody's Valentine's Day?  Did you get lots of goodies from your significant other?  I received a basket full of chocolate, bubble bath, candy, balloon and dice (not the board game kind of dice either).

For my husband, I bought him some cheap lingerie. Really, I did! When I told a friend what I did, she figured maybe there were things she didn't know about my husband. :) Nope. Usually, men buy women lingerie so women can wear it for their men. Sooooo, that makes it more a gift for a man than the woman they bought it for. So I just went around all that and bought him some leopard print lingerie for me to wear for him.

When he opened it, he said, "I don't think this is going to fit me."  Really?  Ha Ha!

This weekend is clean the family room weekend, which will be major bad for my allergies (to dust and cats) because it's basically a storage area right now - full of dust and cat dander.  Oh joy.

We need to make room to make it into living space and also find a spot for my son's drum set. It's been sitting in his room but having it on a different level, with more room, and less noise for mom, would mean more playing time for him. He just doesn't get enough drum time in band class or enough room in his bedroom (we have a piece of it in OUR bedroom - doesn't do him a lot of good that way). Having a full drum set for a 12-year-old boy? Awesome!  Having enough room to have the full drum set all together for a 12-year-old boy? Priceless!

Bring on the ear plugs (and allergy medications)!

My husband and I were trying to figure out if we've been married 16 or 17 years.  He said 17.  I said 16. I was right.  We will celebrate our 17th at the end of this year.  Really, after this many years of marriage, he should know just to agree with me anyway.

I think I am going to ask my kids for personalized anniversary gifts for moms in the form of free babysitting coupons. Mom and dad definitely need to go out on some dates!  A metal family tree with our pictures in it would be nice too but mom and dad REALLY need to get out of the house more!

It actually got cold enough for some kids to head to the mountain to ski and snowboard this week.  Growing up where Louie Vito has practiced and trained, a lot of kids in the area get a kick out of hitting that same mountain themselves.

I've looked at burton snowboards for my kids. I think my husband wants to teach them to ski, but I think they'd enjoy snowboarding more once they got the hang of it.

We just haven't had the weather this winter, in our area, but there is always next year!

My teenager has narrowed down her career choices (for now) to design or medical. I think she'll eventually lean further towards medical.  Maybe we'll have a vet or a doctor in the family...or perhaps a registered nurse. The medical field is always in demand but with the new health care mandates coming into effect in the coming years, who knows what will happen.

Whichever she chooses - to design homes, design cars, or help people, she'll do well.  She could even change her mind and go for something entirely different!  It'd be nice to have a doctor in the family though - save me some trips. Ha ha.
