Football season is almost over with. While I'm glad about that (LOTS of drama at the high school this season), I'm not so thrilled with having to replace my daughter's flute for concert band that starts after marching band (Football) is over with. It's her senior year. I have to replace a flute for her...for only about six months of use! Ugh.  I really wish her current flute had lasted another six months.

I'll check around online for used ones as well as at musician friend and see what I can find. This purchase is going to hurt.

What are you listening to right now?

I'm listening to Grace Potter and the Nocturnals "Turntable"..new song I just found.

'Cause I will be your record
And you will be my turntable
I'm your amplifier
And you're my RCA cable
Jump up down up down
Down down baby up
One kiss and I'm disabled
I will be your record
And you will be my turntable

The music is good but I'm not so sure about the lyrics. I never would've thought to equate a relationship to old school records. Eh. Not a fan after listening to it once.

My husband is putting his Johnson acoustic up for sale. This was the one guitar he kept the longest, but lo and behold, it's going up for sale. Ugh. So, I wonder what he wants now. Perhaps another acoustic or a mark morton signature d2 dominion perhaps?

I just wish he'd keep one or two guitars FOREVER. No lie - in the 18 years we've been married, he's probably had 40 (?) guitars. He buys, plays and either doesn't like it - period - or finds something better.

I really thought this Johnson acoustic guitar had a chance.

*sigh*

One of my girls is asking for a Luna guitar for Christmas. She saw one at the music store (I think it was called Starry Night) and she loved it. It's a possibility.

I don't know what my husband plans on doing for my stepkids. He hasn't said. I found this m-audio bx5 d2 studio monitors at musicians friend online that I think he'd like, since this would help with equipment for him. He's going to school for music production.  He also does some stage stuff. It's an idea.

I'd say I am a little more than halfway done with shopping, though I've not received it all yet (online shopping so we wait for shipping). Maybe I'll be done by week's end.

I have these two guitars...one is a Yamaha acoustic and the other is a red Takamine acoustic-electric.  I haven't played them in a long time.  They hang on my wall and collect dust.  They're so pretty...they're art!  That bugs my guitar-playing husband who is always trying to get me to give him one of them.  Um, no.  He has his own!  I know he doesn't like that I just admire them on our wall rather than play them, but I love them.

Now, if he wants to buy me one of these exciting gibson j 200 at musicians friend, then we can talk. Probably not.  I still wouldn't give up my other guitars, but I wouldn't mind this beautiful Gibson!

You know those husbands who enter a hardware store and never leave (that's my father-in-law)? Or the husband who enters a sporting goods store and never leave?  I have a husband who can't enter a music store because he won't want to leave! It's so bad, I won't even go into a music store with him anymore. I'll stay home or wait in the car. Why does a man have to spend hours inside a music store? I don't spend hours inside a mall!

This weekend is clean the family room weekend, which will be major bad for my allergies (to dust and cats) because it's basically a storage area right now - full of dust and cat dander.  Oh joy.

We need to make room to make it into living space and also find a spot for my son's drum set. It's been sitting in his room but having it on a different level, with more room, and less noise for mom, would mean more playing time for him. He just doesn't get enough drum time in band class or enough room in his bedroom (we have a piece of it in OUR bedroom - doesn't do him a lot of good that way). Having a full drum set for a 12-year-old boy? Awesome!  Having enough room to have the full drum set all together for a 12-year-old boy? Priceless!

Bring on the ear plugs (and allergy medications)!
